Some might instantly give a good ole’ “WTF” at this kind of picture sliding into the lineup. And hopefully, some might perk right up and recall what this shot is in remembrance of. For those who have not seen the 1986 movie called “Labyrinth” this probably looks like some surreal shot. But actually its one of my favorite moments in the movie, where the goblin king, ‘Jareth’ (played by none other than DAVID BOWIE) had the near-final meeting with the movie’s main protagonist. So asked AHV to draw Greenie all decked out in the goblin king’s outfit & hairstyle.
A pretty creative and fun movie from back in the 80s, among other fun favorites like Airplane 1 & 2, Beetlejuice, Bloodsport, The Goonies, Howard the Duck, The Last Star Fighter, Little Monsters, Mad Max 1 & 2, Monster Squad, My Science Project, Revenge of the Nerds, Road House, The Running Man, Scar Face, Scrooged, Spaceballs, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, etc. Plenty of memorable flicks from that decade.

Thank you
Was worried the idea might have flown over most everyone's heads, as I am hoping more people than I suspect have seen this movie, but hard to tell for sure.
And that final song was great, but did also lik the one earlier in the movie "Magic Dance"

Oh yeah. The first thing that really caught my eye about the series was the developing relationship of Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend, the fact that they never just got back to the status quo like most cartoons/sitcoms/comics etc. but that it grew like a real relationship...that just happened to have a guy in an evil butterfly costume with his own flying cocoon and a sexy woman with a man's voice who dresses like Jackie-O but apparently doesn't know it. Once I saw how all the other characters had major arcs and changes over time I was hooked.
The ball scene was very dreamy and held a rather nice fit to the song that accompanied it at that part in the flick. I can't deny that. Though it felt it had more of a duration and such, "Within You" from the final encounter at the flick's end was just a bit more to my liking.
Yup, Labyrinth is one of my all time fav movies and Bowie was perfectly cast. Let's face it, surrounding him with evil looking but somehow still cute muppets was downright natural. Not many people you can say that about.
AHV did an awesome job with the outfit and pose. Recognized it immediately and put me in full nostalgia mode.

Oh yes,
It was actually pretty entertaining to see how well Bowie mingled and fit into that role above all those muppetish lackies in his kingdom, like it was indeed a perfect fit in some odd way.
And the pose itself is actually from one of the more commonly seen shots of the movie, can easily find it via Google.

Yep Yep
That is soooo much better a name for them compared to the rather unusual name the contact juggling toy craze has given it... FUSHIGI

"I move the stars for no-one..."
Ah, this brings back memories. I LOVED this movie as a kid. Taped it off the TV and just kept watching it again and again, lol.
Recently I found it on DVD, so just had to get it
I think it was watching stuff like this and "The Dark Crystal" that inspired me to get into fantasy writing.

It was a pretty inspiring fantasy flick among a few good others in that decade, it just was a fun roundup of movies back then.
Not saying we dont get good ones now, but seeing as those ones from the 80s were back over 20-30 years ago and some are still getting some good fame. It just proves how timeless a good handful of these movie titles might become.
