I wasn't very well when I made this, but making stuff like this does help to get the feeling outta the body and I really liked how this came out so it's all good. Experimenting here with more complex backgrounds and trying to incorporate light and shadows.

Oh yeah, and the first time I draw Tessie without his glasses. I was deliberating about if they should actually be part of his face or not as his eyes...but I figured out that could be a bit too silly. Either way, without them he has poor vision, as he needs them to focus his gaze. Tessie, unfortunately, sees things through the emission theory of vision, so he needs his glasses both to polarize his unfocused eyes forward, as he was born with bad eyes unable to properly focus the light they emit, but they also help to filter out most of the light he produces so he's not blasting everyone with his eye beams.
