I should note that despite the horrible fates gnolls tend to experience in my drawings, I rather like them. It's just that there aren't many furry races to stuff down my Greyhawk preds' gullets. Plus, gnolls are so evil that they are "acceptible targets", as the trope goes.

Yeah, he's a bit scrawny, but I think it just makes him look like a lithe rogue. Looks kind of like the runt of the litter, which may explain why he's not with the pack. He was too weak to be a proper fighter, and only his wits (and perhaps a little luck) saw him into adulthood in the civilized world. I gotta say that he has some finely well muscled legs, of which I don't think they're too long. I like his look, and I think this turned out rather well.
I love gnolls, I play a psion telepath male gnoll which is chaotic good, raised by an spirit-man of mountain in a human very little communauty of "sages" (wizzards, priests, monks ...) which rescued him after found him in forest, in coma and close to death when he has 4 years.
He learn to speak common, gnoll, sylvain and gnome by his "master". At 13,5 yo relation with his "master" turns to some kind of romance and total love. They hide their relationship to the other people of the communauty, they accept Matsahui (the gnoll) but they certainly won't be tolerant toward the fact that Kal Tlanoc (his "master") and Matsahui are mates.
He live an happy life till his 19yo, where Kal Tlanoc disappear, more or less kidnapped by to dwarves, despite magical protection around the town.
He can't contact him telepaticaly, but is convinced that he is not dead, and decide to leave his place and continue alone to increase his psionic abilities and try to find and rescue Kal Tlanoc.
He is 20 years old now.

That's a good backstory explaining how a gnoll might become an adventurer. My one gnoll character was the only survivor from a gnoll tribe that attacked a monastery where the monks were much better fighters than the gnolls expected. One of the female gnolls had a baby in her backpack and the monks couldn't bring themselves to kill it, so they adopted him and he eventually became a monk himself.
bad idea to attack monks, I hesitated to pick psionic chaos monk (homebrew class, chaos monk with some psionic abilities, but less than psion and psychic warrior) but preferred full psion of telepath domain (so with nearly no contact battle abilities) and a lot of knowledges skills.
He is not good in battle, and prefers to use psionic suggestions an charms to try to stop battles before they start when it's possible
