Unrelated to the punchline, one thing my retcon from a few months ago lets me do with Jared - and I still have to update the cast page to reflect this - is it lets me redefine where he's from, since I threw out a lot of Jared exposition. When I created Jared (age 12 or so), I literally did not know that Northern Ireland was a thing! So I was just like "he is from IRELAND™" and I never gave it a second thought for years and years and years until finally I was like "wait but... which... one... though."

I did some reading before settling on what I wanted, and a character-building thread fellow artist JayyLyn made on the ComicFury forums really helped me with this. He's from Northern Ireland. (I mean, look at the last name "Blackwood" and tell me it's not super English!) This honestly changes very little, I'm just going to be revising some Jared material now so that he self-identifies as "from Northern Ireland" or "from the UK" rather than just "from Ireland". That's about the size of it... I guess you might have to change the accent you imagine him with, too.
