So says Warren Ellis at http://freakangels.com/whitechapel/.....823&page=1 :
"A Time Lord can regenerate twelve times before dying. Thirteen incarnations in all.
Design the thirteenth incarnation of the Doctor.
You may additionally redesign the DOCTOR WHO logo, the TARDIS and other elements of the property should you so wish."
Some would probably need a change of pants, for good or bad, if Hugh Laurie was hired as the Doctor. I added a touch of Doc Brown to him because, you know, time.

                    Hmmm. . . hrmmm . . .
Nope, sorry, I don't really think the vest works. That's where my head stops when I look at this. Hugh Laurie, though? Possibly . . . though I'd also think Michael Emerson could do a decent job.
If they go back to older actors though, I'd have to go with Sir Ian McKellan. Since Sir Derek Jacobi was already used . . .

Yeah, looking back on this, the idea worked better as a concept than a visual. The idea was to mix up your average office shirt-and-pants with more of an adventure practicality, while still being different from the trenchcoat thing I've seen so much of. I should've given him something different than the vest, probably something longer.
