Ha ha ha ha ha, just read your "adventure".... Man, wonder who they took to create the logical tree about group moderating, but I highly doubt the guy had a diploma for that, they certainly took a cheap self-proclamed project director!!!
It is even a serious responsability/security threat, imagine anybody would upload illegal files... Who will be pursued then??!!!!!!!
Yahoo groups was a good time, but it was about time something better came out. Not to mention they chased everybody themselves by axing every group that got even one file about sex, even if the group was tagged adult. You could see your group erased the following hours without even knowing what happened, without having any mean to complain, without having any answer from the satff.

I was building a Yahoo group of my own once. It was somebody else's idea and they opened the account. Unfortunately, I think it might have been that same Horsemage. I couldn't get control of "my site" and when I brought it to Yahoo's attention they simply deleted the whole thing, wiping out dozens of hours of work I'd done to upload files and organize them. What did the care? They had a minor problem to correct for their convenience and I was a piece of gum stuck to their shoe with no rights. They just scraped me off.

Yep, that's at the end exactly what everybody felt being considered....

I haven't bothered looking at it, though I'm a member still. I belong to around a half dozen groups, and another small number that are just archives. The only one I think I've looked at in a year is Sawyer Unleashed (to post a file), and Furry WAM (mere curiosity -- there was nothing new of any interest).

All my Yahoo groups were deleted due to troll harassment.

Yeah, I remember Yahoo Groups. I mostly remember how good toon groups would get deleted without warning.

There's still 3 groups for that co-op setting project.

Do you have any suggestions for the "modern, with-it, au-go-go" replacement for Yahoo Groups?

Probably something to do with expensive WiFi, iPods and Kindles and monthly fees. I wouldn't know anything about it if its that cool.

Weirdly enough, I've found Yahoo group update notices for Furry Perils (2) and Furry WAM (3) in my email inbox between 17-30 August (I started to add a list of headings here but deleted them to spare your patience). I'm tempted to exit from them.

I beleive I've gotten update notices from at least Furry WAM, though when I checked there was nothing of interest to me. I guess it was inactive for the longest time, but somebody has recently discovered it.

One problem I had with almost all groups I joined was that after a short while there was nothing uploaded that was remotely worth looking at or reading.

Another Furry WAM (yawn) and something from the C96 forum (9mm vs 7.62mm) - I really should try to escape the forums I no longer have any interest in, assuming such a thing is possible.
