I wasn't expecting to find references for the TIE Scout on FA of all places. Thanks for posting this at different angles.
I've been doing a fan project lately involving a Lone Scout A (which, according to the wiki, is basically the TIE Scout with a worse sensor array and was one of Seinar Republic Systems' early attempts at Twin Ion Engine craft) but something that's had me perplexed is... the data does NOT match visual examples. Supposedly, the LSA/TIE Scout is 24 meters long, with the former having a whopping 150-ton cargo capacity over a space of 60 cubic meters and a year's worth of consumables (the Scout as 25 tons of cargo capacity and 6 months).
So either the TIE Scout/Lone Scout A is a W I D E boy and that ball cockpit is actually quite big compared to a standard TIE model's cockpit-- or the numbers are way, way off. It's driving me nuts. What do you think?

That makes sense. Thank you for responding to my message. I've been trying to find a comfortable middle-ground between "looks like common artistic renditions/looks like it was made by a sane person" and "could reasonably be used for long-term missions." I've even been digging through things like message boards to get info but it's such a specific topic that not a lot of people talk about it.
I did, however, find an image some folks made as a comparison. It doesn't follow the "stretched limo version" you mentioned (although the same message board this image was posted in had also included a Hungarian fan's rendition which did follow the idea of a stretched craft) and it assumes that the proportions of the popular depictions of TIE Scouts are followed, which leads to... a rather big ship comparable to the Millennium Falcon, like some kind of monster TIE. The second, smaller TIE Scout in the image is the comment author's "middle-ground" idea. Your thoughts?

I feel that the Lone Scout-A being comparable to the Millennium Falcon is just flat out wrong. Think of it this way, it would be cheaper to extend the hull and wings of the TIE Scout the length of the ship to make the Lone Scout-A rather that enlarge it in all directions.
