I studied two of the art backdrops in 'Spirited Away' and attempted to duplicate some of the details level in colored pencil. The originals from the movie are absolutely brilliant.

Any Miyazaki film is brilliant, but Spirited Away was definitely one of his best, and the only anime ever given an Oscar for something! :^D (Best Animated Film, 2002)
Given the subject matter of your previous pieces, I can say that this would work great as an inspiration for whatever you have planned.

This is absolutly superb. Your color pencil skills are impressive. I particularly love the subtle texturs you have created. The wood panneling, the street, and the shiny table are awsome. I have been interested in getting serious with pencils again. I plan on getting either the faber-castels or the ever popular prismacolors ( I have a little prismacolor set right now). What do you like? Also what did you do this on and how big is it?
P.S. I have been asking all the uber-skilled color pencilists this stuff since did a piece a while back and figured out just what I can do with them. I have been primarily a pastel artist, and scribbler.

2. pic: I have the feeling that the shadows are messed up. Either there are 2 sunlight sources, 1 coming from the back (direction you're looking to) and 1 from the right hand side; Or the shadows of the partylights are misplaced or mirrored. (carefully compare the 2 closest ones)
Still very precise work of art, reminds me of my drawing class I used to go to xP. Keep up the great work! (you might even make me take classes again!)

I see a big problem with spacing. Such as the distances between the bar tables where the characters would eat and the edge of the upper level canopy and support beams. That is some cramped space. In animation you always want as much floor space as possible for the characters to move through. I know these are duplications, but they took the same things into consideration.
