For this week's personal project, hoo, about that Snowgrave Route in Deltarune: Chapter 2, huh?
I guess I might as well share my own thoughts about Deltarune while we're here. I've not played either chapter yet, not for any other reason but time constrains combined with other games being on my list. I've watched a ton of playthroughs of them, and even hang out with one of my buddies while he played them, so I know the gist of it and how it works. It's got all the charm and goodness Undertale had, and with that style of writing (simple but charming and with a bit of an edge) it's impossible for me not to enjoy it. I have no buts about either game, they're just great and super enjoyable.
I wouldn't label this as vent art, because I wasn't particularly sad or depressed when drawing it. Have you ever watched a scene in a movie or show, that's stayed with you and really got under your skin to a visceral level? That's me with the resolution of the Snowgrave Route in Deltarune Chapter 2. It's a gut-punch of a moment, which recontextualises the entire game. The fact that we can psychologically torture and manipulate that pure soul that is Noelle makes this game several degrees more messed up than the Genocide Route in the original Undertale. That's why I decided to make a drawing of that moment, more to get it out of my head than for any other reason.
Next one will be less depressing, I promise.
Please, let me know what you think of it in the comments. I appreciate each and every single one I receive.

Yeah, with Noelle being a fave of mine even since chapter 1, learning about this route screwed me up mentally for like a week. Being the psychology nerd that I am only made it hit harder, because I noticed the mental manipulation and corruption of Noelle is…unsettlingly realistic in some aspects. Noelle goes through many phases of defense mechanisms, starting from rationalization(Telling herself that Kris is only trying to help by making her stronger) to denial(Telling herself that she didn’t attack the merchant to get the ring and that he just gave it to them) to just straight up repression(Having an unclear recollection of Snowgraving Berdly right after she does it). Heck there’s even some conditioning with the whole “Proceed” thing. All in all it was horrible to watch Noelle be psychologically broken and beaten down. Not only that but when you take into account that her and Kris grew up together as not only neighbors, but also childhood friends, it hits even harder.
