If you're cold, they're cold. Let them inside.
Alternate title: "How Much for the Zombie in the Window?"
More spooky stuff to start off October, this time one of those undead ghoul creatures that have been part of Geoterra canon for well over a decade but I only really seem to acknowledge around Halloween. Of course, as I rambled about previously, it just sort of makes sense to me that these creatures become active in the autumn--cooler temperatures, shortening days meaning longer nights, it's just easier and safer for these creatures to leave their cemeteries and catacombs when there's less heat and sunlight to hasten the decay of their already decrepit bodies, but it's not so cold as to literally freeze them solid as is the case in the winter months.
I also realized as I was coloring that the color scheme I typically use for this sort of creature, a sort of dirty greyish tan color and dark brown for the hair, makes them look sort of like a monstrous, undead version of Angelo... Oops.

"Wanna buy some Ghoul Scout cookies...?"
My grandma, who passed away 20 years ago, never learned to drive at any point in her life and there are still letters addressed to her that show up every once in a while trying to sell her an extended warranty for her car.

"Dude... We keep telling you... Use the Doorbell. Roxy's not fond of having to keep calling The Viper, but he's the only window washer who'll come out this far." -Ryktor Yvhuce.
I suspect that most of the rest of the YI cast would be of similar mindset. Roxy would be less amused, since it's her windows getting smudged. But she'd let him in. Maybe make him spend a few days sweeping the hall though (fun with magic/tech allows a macro's house to be housed inside of a trailer house).

This reminds me of a story I heard a while back, I think on one of those YouTube channels that just read creepy stories from Reddit, the sort of thing that's nice to listen to while drawing or playing Minecraft or whatever... to summarize, someone's most terrifying childhood memory is the time a zombie tried to break in through their window one night, and when they grew up, at a party one of their uncles said they were dating someone that worked in special effects and she wanted to practice zombie makeup. So, after that, he saw said kid's light still on late at night and decided to pull a prank on them!
Not sure if it's a true story, but it's a somewhat entertaining tale all the same. Maybe this ghoul is just somebody's weird friend or relative trying to pull a prank--only this one's zombification isn't special effect makeup!

The YT story sounds like something one of my family members would do. So, even if it's not true, it's at least plausible.
The not-special effects angle sounds like something one of the Yvhuce clan would do. There are many a half-baked spell handed down through the generations. Most are fairly harmless prank stuff or parlor tricks. Others... Well... The Latransinomicon was written by Heaven's Court Jester... Not that they really have anything to fear from the undead, directly. Though, too much dealing with the undead may somewhat tarnish the public's opinion of the family and the family businesses. But, their HQ is out in the sticks, and most of the family lives around there. And Fred Yvhuce's grandpa did save the world from alien invasion. And Yvhuce Industries is their world's leading high-quality producer of many of the parts and tools and techstuffs that help keep modern societies going. They're not just a weapons/ABDL company. They make just about everything there's a market for.
