The Heatstone
I don't normally participate in "prompt months", but I feel like I haven't been drawing enough lately, so here we are.
#1 - Radiant
To the solo traveler, heatstones are vital for survival in the vast wilds of Embertrail. These magical... well, they're stones... act as a replacement for the campfire, emitting heat and light in plenty, with no need to carry, gather, and tend to fuel. These resilient islands of comfort are near-permanent, and can be found scattered through the wilderness, left behind by travelers of ages past. Those that desire a heatstone of their own can purchase a Heatstone Token from most runemasters. They're not cheap, but you can't put a price on an object that can conjure a big warm rock, no matter what dark and soggy pit you might find yourself in.
This submission is a part of one of my worldbuilding projects: The Last Dream of Embertrail.
The world of Embertrail lies at a cosmic crossroads, where strange magical structures called Monoliths frequently bring new people, ideas, cultures, and conflicts from all across the cosmic waters.
