This was actually done for a local fine art show through a framer where they provide small birch panels to paint (it makes the show look cohesive and I'm sure it's easier for them to frame!)
Honestly I really like the rigidity of wood I have a few pieces where I let the grain peek through by using a clear gesso. I enjoy painting on many different materials just for fun! It's nice to see texture in person though it doesn't photograph as well as flat pieces.
