That is without doubt, the most insightful thing I have heard in a good long time. Indeed, your are right Miss Best. It is tragic that we as humans tend to live insular lives. With the internet, it is possible to share so much now, but people fear rejection. And so few ever reach out, feeling it better to live as a ghost. They enter your world, look about- and pass unnoticed. Yes for many it is better to be lonely, better to be unknown, than judged. You no doubt have felt that. That worry of, "Is my art good enough" when you post something.

Myself, I am beyond caring what negative people think. There is no special talent in being negative and catty. Indeed, it is the default setting for humanity- even a four year old is expert at it.

But praising someone's work or person, ah., there is work, there is thought, and this is why it is so rare! Carrying a conversation betwixt the two of us as we are doing here, takes time, it takes work, but what a joy it is.

Do you know what the easiest and most thrilling word is?

"No."

People in power so often use it, because no one gets in trouble for saying no.. And it gives the same god like thrill as saying yes- for no risk. For in destruction, here is the anti-power of creation. It takes no effort to say no and xero risk. But no reward, save feeling to power one has over another. It is therefore the position of small minds, minds that believe in safety, in "CYA." I cannot tell you how often I have heard "no" in in my work and in my writing.

You are a brave woman Miss Best. Posting anything invites rejection- and this can be every bit as deadly to the spirit as poison is to the body. A brave woman indeed Miss Best, I hope you always remain so and if someone should bother to say no or darken your talent, always remember that even a four year old can be negative- it requires no effort at all.
