#3 - Pressure
To celebrate the arrival and departure of the sun - and the spirits that visit this world each day - is vitally important to the Athaexi. So much so, that no matter where you go on Embertrail, chances are even small towns have a Singer among them to mark these occasions... twice a day, every day.
Most daily Greetings don't draw a crowd quite like this, but the sudden death of this modest town's Singer has everyone talking, and has left his apprentice in something of an intimidating position.
This submission is a part of one of my worldbuilding projects: The Last Dream of Embertrail.
The world of Embertrail lies at a cosmic crossroads, where strange magical structures called Monoliths frequently bring new people, ideas, cultures, and conflicts from all across the cosmic waters. It's a wild and merciless place, where the primordial forces of the universe come to life, and powerful otherworldly beings roam unchecked. On Embertrail, you could forge a new life... or it could forge one for you.
