And here you have it folks! She's nearly done!
With the corners rounded off and a a bit of finish sanding with some 220 grit sand paper I decided it was high time to add some color. I ended up using a staining method that was somewhat unorthodox in an attempt to better mach the rosewood finish of the Leslie cabinet. Namely, I did one coat of Jacobean stain and let that sit for about ten second before wiping it off and applying some Red Mahogany. The dark black/green of the Jacobean brought out the grain lines while the Red mahogany gave the wood a lustrous red color.
In reality What I ended up with was something that looked a bit more like a light walnut but color matching is like rolling dice, you just gotta hope for the best. either way it looks great and I can't wait to wake up tomorrow after the stain has cured and put it all together and try it out!
