However i do find it ironic. In the animated series Ash, brock, misty e.t.c. never age. Even after about a decade

As far as the pokemon. There is insufficient info on their proposed life spans.

Characters never age in anime it seems. It's like in Detective Conan when they had something like two or three Christmas specials and he's still the same age... somehow?

Look at Dragon Ball. It got so extensive they had characters die or become age regressed. From start to end, it seems the story of Dragon ball progresses over a course of nearly 50 years long.
