I find I do more post production work on stuff like this too. With me its about getting the exact shape I want, which is always hard when your trying to caricature cartoon inflation in a somewhat realistic fashion. Also when you have a bipedal character morphing progressively into a round one with the right proportions per each sequence. Its a complex progression. Is this what you have found to be the reasons for your post production work?
Actually that was a thought I was having during the sketching of this one. I wasn't worried so much about getting the right proportions, at least not as much as I should have been, so much as figuring out exactly how to draw everything in a way that shows that he's just becoming a big, spherical object from such an early point. I actually don't think I did too good of a job of that, but it's a series, so that point will be made eventually anyway. Probably not the best way of thinking, but it's the best I can do for now.
As far as the post-production work goes, for me it's actually more trying to figure out what little things to add or remove digitally and what type, shape, form, etc. of font to use to best express the situation.
