I like the heartfelt nature of this, you did both pretty good, even though I am not up to speed on One Piece and I am very far behind and I am still intimidated by the length of which it really is. Either way! I love it and I hope your pen-pal loves it!

Since One Piece is ongoing for 20 years by now, it is hard to catch up on the story, if started only recently. Even I still lack some chapters because of unstable broadcasting in my country...

That's gotta feel bad for the broadcasting issue, for me I left off at the end of the Enny's Lobby Arc since that was where I left off via TV from many years ago. And I continued where they left that area and are heading towards what I believe is Thriller Bark. However I do have to admit that I never watched the Mountain Saga before Skypiea where they finally crossed over to the other Blue via that weird...mountain...river...system..thingy..place.

hm then you really have many chapters to catch up

I forget you're a One Piece fan haha, I've been caught up to the manga for like 8 years now, it's one hell of a trip. Love how you drew Neko and Inu, they are such good characters

I came in contact with One Piece in 2002 and followed the story since then, sometimes disrupted by poor broadcasting, but I somehow kept trace^^

The Marineford one is going to suck because I don't like seeing Luffy so horrifically upset and sad. But I know it gets better because of one moment a reviewer played very specifically a Piano Arrangement of Memories, one of the songs in One Piece's endings and it played during the scene where Luffy silently counts his fingers, the people who depend on him, who love him. And it resonated way harder than I was prepared for. Because it reminds me of what I want to do.

To gain 10-12 close friends before my time here is up so that they can travel with me to any other life times and dimension that await with excitement and challenge.

ah yes this scenario was very intense. Starting as a more lighthearted story in season 1 One PIece became more and more dark and mature to some decree, for it is about coming of age mostly

It really is, its very intense but I think its appropo regardless since its a very real thing that can happen.

But yes, I have...waaaaaaaayyyy too many arcs to go through via the anime. <v>;;

I hope not, but it is good to expect the worst, because like it is said in a bhuddist teaching: If you meet Bhudda, kill him. If you meet an ancestor, kill him. MEaning that the new generation should cut threir relationship to the elder generation to come out of their own. And in story telling it means that the mentor characters need to die...

yeah...the trope must be fed.
