An engineer operating on an android - it works. Xiva comes from a reality that requires every droid be equipped with some function that serves the military; hers is a shield that blocks energy weapon attacks. Her original job put her far from the battlefield as possible, never mind that her reality hadn't seen any major battles in recent history anyway (or perhaps they have, additional work on me notes pending of course).
