Every once in a great, great while, two monoliths form in such close proximity that their areas of effect overlap. The pictured instance of this rare phenomenon is called "Suwurna". Consistent with historical naming conventions, its name is a portmanteau of the worlds these two structures lead to.
Even though it is astoundingly unlikely for both monoliths to activate at the exact same time, access to the overlap zone is blocked without exception. Anyone with even a shred of intelligence does [b]not[b] want to personally find out what it's like for two worlds to play tug-of-war with your spirit.
This submission is a part of one of my worldbuilding projects: The Last Dream of Embertrail.
The world of Embertrail lies at a cosmic crossroads, where strange magical structures called Monoliths frequently bring new people, ideas, cultures, and conflicts from all across the cosmic waters. It's a wild and merciless place, where the primordial forces of the universe come to life, and powerful otherworldly beings roam unchecked. On Embertrail, you could forge a new life... or it could forge one for you.
