Well let's see:
- The dragon is the kind of guy who wants to be respected and highly paid, but when faced with cruelty to another creature he ended up harming himself to help them.
- While the queen who is respected seems to have some interesting ulterior motives or a much more harsh form of greed.
I note these stones are a sparkly and watery blue and referred to as 'samples' instead of a more value related term, so I'm thinking magical plot that is using these things as fuel with increasing costs for some reason.
