i do wanna point something out, "in counter" towards what's shaping out to be the inevitability, bob's gonna wrest gervic's ward off — i am positive there are alternative methods available to better secure this ward to one's person than, what i presume is, a flimsy string
even if the string itself isn't flimsy (and thus-subject to easy ripping), a loose-fitting necklace like that can still be removed from one's neck with little effort: i can foresee a smart lizard like bob's figuring a way to mold his mana to maneuver the necklace from off gervic, such that bob wouldn't have to get close to gerv to try accomplishing that personallyº
º (i don't know anything of bob's physical prowess, if he can do anything beyond throwing the same kind of punches any regular civvie, of reasonable health, might)
like, i dunno..
..a "choker"—composed of fairly•durable metal—with the jewel embedded in it: the choker itself secured by a standard-grade lock which is obscured-from-view by a snap-in-place clasp•cover
(as, i reckon: even with bob's genius, he couldn't reasonably discern there being a lock hidden behind a clasp; much-less-so, being able to mold his mana to pick that lock should he manage to reveal it)
alternatively: this metal band (as detailed above) can instead be placed around gervic's upper bicep; ankle; torso; wrist
i'm sure someone with vlagg's means can facilitate any of these designs
there are also possibilities for enclosing the ward in an elbow or knee brace, or within a fingerless, clasping gauntlet — if such things exist in this universe
to the consideration that any of these measures might be bypassed by "forceful removal" of supporting limb: as bob's overall mission in life appears to be killing gervic anyway... ...if we ever reach the point of their struggle such that gervic is unable to prevent bob from successfully amputating a specific body part of the wolf's, we should then embrace the possibility gervic already is, basically, "as good as dead"
right?
(unless bob opts to torture gerv, after managing to render him unable to resist bob's magic anymore
there is that possibility, yes)
my point is: gervic better not be screwed because of the string
i know it looks pretty, and is easier to deal with this way; but vlagg and gervic both should have known better than to allow an amulet, of such paramount importance, to be so insecurely-fashioned
i feel they both are too smart (and too well-versed in tactics) to overlook that!
well..
..i guess we'll see what happens with that over these next pages

i have to admit Gervic is a Awesome and amazing Hero. one thing i like about him is i like how brave and courageous and smart he is. another thing i like about him when he takes on a Task he always gets it done and accomplishes it. i also like how he never backs down from a challenge. Gervic is kind of like my favorite Role Model. i like how He never Backs down anything that is a good thing about him.
