are the bugs animating him to some extent in this context? beyond the obvious "oogie boogie" refrence, I remember reading a sci-fi horror novel about these "shock-roaches" that generated electricity; beyond the frying people and eating them they also had the horrific ability to colonize a human body and use it to communicate. if the host was a cyborg that might be far less body horror and more of an unexpected symbiosis to survive in a situation where electricity is scarce.
