I hope you forgive me for probably trying to explain this poorly.
But the level of detail in this piece is astounding! The mixture of colors and highlights make the whole tongue look wet. Same with the frothy saliva clinging to the mouth. Plus the speckles/stars in the fur really makes the eye wander around the piece.
