There are times where I seem to study people's backgrounds more than the naked character(s) in it. Sometimes, the way a characters eyes were done can grab my attention than their exposed genitals or "activity".

It’s called an eye for detail and discriminating taste. We see a lot of images of people having sex, so that’s not unusual. But some people see more in an image than just the main subject. 🤓

I would like to think that I have an eye for detail. Even out in life, things I look at and even buy it's because there's some little thing that caught my eye. A lot of the time, it's the sex or the gorgeously beautiful characters but the background can sometimes steal the show.

My backgrounds might not be the most gorgeous or the best but when I make them, quite a bit of thought goes into them. I probably spend more time doing up a background than I do a character.

Masamune Shirow was the pioneer in using CG textures and images in the background. Most of the time he made it work very well, but occasionally it did take away from the subject of the image.
