Personal Log (Lt. Karalle M'Rerra) Stardate 88312.2,
One of my favorite holidays is here again. Once again, Mark has failed to understand the significance of this day. I have no idea why. I mean really, a Starfleet Captain who doesn't get excited about Federation Day? Ok, maybe that's not 100% true, maybe he's just not as fanatical about it as I am. Even so, this day celebrates everything the Federation has achieved since 2161, and I think he had a great idea to do celebrate it with this "throwback day" aboard ship. It really fills me with pride to see all the uniform designs Starfleet has used in the last 240 years, and it's even better to see the whole crew getting in on it.
I'd like to say that I had a hard time deciding which one to choose, but knowing what I know of Federation history, there was only one choice. I've been fascinated about the history of the U.S.S. Enterprise 1701-D since I was a little cub. Even though she met her end way too soon, Tasha Yar has served as a role model for all female security officers since then, or at least I think she should. Her strength of character in escaping her crime-infested home of Turkana IV, building a life for herself on her own terms, its what everyone in Starfleet should aspire to be.
M'Rerra giving a little hero worship to those who came before.
Thanks to
