Gift painting I did for DustyTheYeen on Twitter, after listening to so much music from Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, and the character inspired by this is Maya Amano from the game. The idea was first pitched thanks to  OdysseyHusky since he's a giant fan of the whole franchise than I am lol.

I realized way before, I drew Kai's (HyenaCulture's) character in detail just before his birthday back in March, without realizing it (the art with Od serving meat to him that was a silly scene). So I figured it's only fair I do the same here, knowing he and Dusty are mutually close.

Additionally, similar to how I wanted to listen to some songs from a Persona game in order to help settle the tone and make the painting encapsulate it with KipTheMalamute's belated birthday painting (sitting near a building). what is different here's that instead of simply being inspired by a song from a game, I took inspiration from a character directly from one, which is visual

Considering it's October, it's the spooky scary month, so I went with a vibe that would compliment that, combined with the concept of Jungian psychology - in this case, a theme of shadowed reflection. However as we see here, Dusty deviates from this by not looking alike at the shadow, but rather the eyes are closed, implying fear from accepting one's repressed form, or is hurt by something from it.

I had a lot of fun with rendering this but no doubt it was a pain to get through in a very timely manner combined with its whole process
