I reach the top of the pillar and spend a moment panting, trying to catch my breath. I’m not out of shape, but that is still a ton of height to climb in such a hurry. The hole I had to climb through at the top is fairly big but not nearly big enough that someone would just be able to fly or jump through on most of the rideable pokemon, which means they would bottleneck at that hole a little bit.

“Good thing we didn’t turn into something big, or that might have been an uncomfortable squeeze,” I hear a voice say, seemingly from nowhere.

“Who’s there?” I ask, quickly grabbing my wallet and standing up, looking around to see if I can see any threat, my breathing mimicking a dog when it’s trying to sniff out something. I look around and don’t see anyone, only myself. Which currently still looks mostly human. If not for the tail and ears and likely eyes a bit I could be easily mistaken for just a short human.

“I’m you. Or rather the you taking over right now. If you want to discuss it further we can but we really should get going. Unless you want to have them catch us.”
