Actually, the most dangerous thing about the Winter Lanterns is that when they gaze upon you, a status effect called "frenzy" quickly builds up on the character, the moment it fills you lose 3 quarters of your health in an instant and you have to kill the monster before either it kills you or the frenzy status does.
