Good Allegory in calling the Steel Furnaces "Man made Volcanoes". I watch YouTube videos of Steel Furnaces in operation, and it's amazing watching these big machines at work.

They have robot dozers working near the furnaces, basically regular Cat D7s modified with remote control equipment supplied by an Australian company. More often than not the remote equipment would fail and someone had to go in to recover it anyway.

This is the company in question, i talked with my coworker earlier today and turned out he worked with them in his previous gig. I think you might be interested, it sure makes me want to buy a D7 just to play it around like RC

The image that jumped up in my head made me laugh. Imagine a Garage, or a building with a big, square hole in it leading outside. Through the hole in the distance is seen the sihouette of the bulldozer rolling away, with the misfortunate controller and his remote control box running after the rampaging beast. two hard hat wearing foremen in the foreground survey the damage, and one says, "I thought YOU told him we had to change frequencies today."

Well they do say stick a big enough engine on it and anything can be made to fly, whether it wants to or not ;)
