I snarl in the storm's fell light and tell myself despite,
All this death and strife, corpse shine and slavering night,
That Time will set it right,
Though you know, backed into this wretched corner,
Hackles up and future looming darker,
There comes a point when you lose your faith,
drown in the shadows of all the wraiths,
and in the end alone having lost everything you've ever known,
Surrender your sanity and your soul.
This glass castle I've built, all aglint,
The jagged sparkle I thought a shield,
Saved me not in the end. I became the very thing I fought against.
All this death and strife, corpse shine and slavering night,
That Time will set it right,
Though you know, backed into this wretched corner,
Hackles up and future looming darker,
There comes a point when you lose your faith,
drown in the shadows of all the wraiths,
and in the end alone having lost everything you've ever known,
Surrender your sanity and your soul.
This glass castle I've built, all aglint,
The jagged sparkle I thought a shield,
Saved me not in the end. I became the very thing I fought against.
