Tortisle are found in coastal shallows, sea side swamps, and slow moving rivers. They remain near the surface of the water, feeding on floating vegetation while enjoying the sun. their sand and plant life gather on their exposed shells, eventually making them appear like small islands. Tortisle love to seek out fruit that hangs over the water, when they do they blast it free of the branch with a quick jet and enjoy a sweet snack.

Tortipelago are a rare site in the wild due to the slow docile nature of their previous evolution. Now they have grown so large that few creatures attempt to prey upon them. It has long been rumored that there is a giant Toripelago that roams across the world, carrying a small ancient civilization on its back.
