“So what are you now?” I ask, starting to get to work on the puzzle in front of us.

“As I said, I am you. I am a part of you now and will be until the day you die. I don’t know everything about it, yet. But I know that when she hit us with that thing and you spoke the word vulpix I came into being. As far as I can tell I am still you. I have all of your memories. Whether we act the same I don’t know. I can tell that as you transform more and more into a pokemon I will gain more and more control over our body. And just as you felt compelled to look at the moon, when the sun comes up I’ll feel compelled to go and take a look at it. And then you’ll regain control. And whenever we are fully in one form the other can do nothing more than just sit and watch from the side-lines.”

I can feel my body rising up as high up as I can go on our tippy toes and the wallet being dropped to the ground, though I don’t entirely know how much of it is because of transforming or because of their control. Some strange part of me also feels that everything that was said is true and they likely wouldn’t be able to say why it’s true any more than I can.
