Hmm, this picture's right side up as I uploaded it, but displays rotated 90 degrees to the left. Oh well.

This is an orb weaver spider, so named because of the generally round shape of the web and the carefully laid down concentric rings. It's what you usually think of when you think of a spider's web.

The handsome lady in the center of the web is possibly an Argiope sp.
