Zarhae was done with waiting. The patrol was long gone by now, he should be able to escape easily. His wings slid out, in their bone form. Taking a quick look at them, he made sure they were in a good position, and smashed them on a rock. He could hear bone breaking, but they didn’t quite shatter. He smashed them again, and was now successful. He angled the bone and put it into the lock, successfully picking it. He slipped out of the bindings on his hands, then worked on his feet and muzzle. Once he was out, he walked away, retracting his wings so they could heal.
It had been about a week since zarhae escaped the chains, and his wings had finally healed. He was getting quite tired of walking, anyways. He opened his wings, jumping into flight. And then, he saw them: the lost edges. It was one of the most dangerous areas of hell, and where he had been most worried about, but he had to go. It contained the demon that could free him of this curse. Just as he thought this, a pain coursed through his arm. It had become a minor annoyance by now, but he knew it would still be deadly. He had to get there soon.
Moving through the edges, zarhae avoided everything that he could. Strange amalgams crawled through these lands, consuming and integrating anything that got in their way. These lands surrounded all of hell, going near infinitely, being stopped only by a wall of light from heaven. This place contained some of the worst demons, and the four gates to hell. But I wasn't going near any of those places, no. I was headed to the lair of the core, where the one demon that might save me was. I thought all this for just a few minutes as I rested, but a few minutes was all that was needed. I whipped around as I heard a strange noise behind me. And then I saw. One of the amalgams was upon me.
It was too close. I couldn’t run, and so I fought. I slashed at it, severing one of its hundreds of limbs. It attempted to slam into my neck with a tentacle, and I wasn't fast enough. Bone shattered as my neck was snapped by the beast. I mutter a curse under my breath, then dive straight into it. A swirl of teeth, claws and tentacles. Pain flashed through me, but it has been dulled by years of it. And so, eventually, I killed the thing.
After collecting any useful body parts, I continue on my way. I’m not bothered any more by the amalgams. Good. And so, in that way, I finally see it, after weeks, months, of travel: the lair of the core. I check for anything that might be problematic, and finding nothing, I make my way in.

Wow this took long. Sorry I haven’t done anything in a while, had no work ethic when I had ideas, and no ideas when I had work ethic. Hope this is good.
