Felt like drawing two GI characters, inspired by playing Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and the original Call of Duty, these were characters I've thought about for some time but only got around to drawing just now. On the left is Sgt Hugh Blythe of the US 1st Infantry Division 'Big Red One' on the outskirts of Golden City, Jefferson State capital during the Californian siege of Denver in 1941, right before the US went on the offense, pushing the Callies back into Utah. The other is Pvt Calvin C. Barnes, a replacement in Charlie Company, 305th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 24th "All American" Airborne Division when the division was dropped into Normandy as part of Operation Neptune in the early morning hours of June 6, 1944; broad-shouldered and rather bulky, Calvin teamed up with two members of of the 32nd Airborne and one Irishsar from their 1st Parachute Battalion to reunite with his scattered Company to take Sainte-Mere-Eglise from the Republican Spanish and hold it against subsequent counterattacks until being liberated by troops and barrels coming from Kansas Beach on the afternoon of June 7.
