A more faithful adaptation of the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow. The book describes the horseman, in Ichabod's point of view, as a large hulking figure on a black steed, carrying his head in the palm of his saddle. Most versions introduce the phantom and his iconic pumpkin head in the first place. But the reader is lead to believe the horseman is actually carrying a severed head until it is found shattered as a pumpkin the next day. One audiobook describes the head to have glowing facial features, so I thought it would be spooky if this horseman had a glowing skull on that saddle.
