So I tend to stream off and on but I'm doing some art today. This happens to be one of the first things, because I do love Zorua and Zoroark. So I'm gonna chill out on my tablet and doodle a bit. They look so soft.
So, what are your headcanons on why zorua turned into a dark type?
Mines have to do with migration due to food changes and changing to be able to stay hidden despite increases of humans in their territory.

This thing looks interesting!
I kinda thought it’d be a Fire type considering the shape of the fur, but Normal/Ghost works just fine.
As for the description question, I was actually wondering the other way around myself. We don’t really know which regional variant canonically came first. Or at least not yet.

It was a possibility for sure.
That's why it's headcannoning. You can draw straws on what you think happened and we might get to see what actually happened later. It's gonna be migration or extinction regardless since it's not native to the modern sinnoh region .

True! Its fur looks a bit like flames if you look at it the right way.
Yeah, true. Either the Zorua line originated from Hisui and adapted to Unova's environment after migrating there or they came from Unova long ago and became this before going extinct. The former would be more similar to how Alolan Exeggutor and the Galarian Zigzagoon line are supposedly what they're supposed to look like. Personal problems with Sword and Shield aside, I do like that about the Galarian Zigzagoon line.
And all regions technically already exist at the same time. They just get written into the world by the devs every time a new region gets added.
And there's always the third option that both of these Zorua and Zoroark existed in the world at the same time like with most other regional forms.

A lot of really good headcannons, we will hopefully get some hints on what happened to this type of zoroark. It's very exciting.
I sort of have not being to much attention since Kalos released so I haven't been super heavy into pokemon outside collecting and beating up trainers for their lunch money and giving up on drawing the entire pokedex. But I am very interested in ancient pokemon world. That just seems so much fun.

I know it sounds a bit silly to be turned off from a game because Totodile's missing from it, but Totodile's a very special Pokémon to me due to being my first ever starter Pokémon. So yeah.
And that's not even getting into the other issues. Where other game series evolve, Pokémon just... doesn't.
