Yesterday, both I and  aurorafox headed all the way out to Palmer. It was one heck of a drive, but enjoyable nonetheless. We arrived at a place that appeared to be an old train station, converted into a restaraunt. All I can say is I'm glad they kept the original appearance of the building. Amtrak came rolling through, switched tracks, and went back the other way. Felt sorry for the conductor, as the switch was manual, and not motorized.

We then headed to Friendly's for lunch, and headed back after a while. CSX then came through.... and stopped right in front of us.... for a good hour or so. Turns out a false flag on one of the shipping containers popped up. All in all, it was a awesome way to end the Summer. A big thanks going out to  aurorafox for the wonderful time! ^_^
