Would SASI units change form a lot or do they generally stick to a single shape?

How do they usually interact with more "primitive" cultures?

Their form is more a choice they make, so changing it is every much something that they can change!

As for primitive cultures, they normally try and be friendly and helpful, but that depends on the individual!

Are all the other situations that happen in your gallery (stuff like the reality transfer press or all the trouble that Digit gets into) things that the SASI can do or that happens in their setting?

Sorta! The reality press is less part of their "cannon" timeline, but it can be in some story type things I do!

Let me try designing a SASI to see if I've got the idea.

- Name: "Bank"
- Fennec / eagle / electric eel chimera
- Small body; big ears
- Essentially a living rechargeable battery
- His ship was an electrical maintenance vessel that could provide power to other ships and colonies in emergency situations
- Glow color depends on charge level; light green at full charge, then dark green, then yellow, then red, and goes to dark red when critically low
- His sigil is a battery outline, that "fills up" in 20% increments according to his charge level
- Right hip contains a covered electrical outlet for powering other devices; it can change shape and voltage to match any electrical standard
- Left hip contains a secret compartment with a power plug and cable for charging himself; it, too, can change shape and voltage
- Solar panels on wings and ears for charging himself in isolation
- Palms of hands and soles of feet conceal wireless charging pads that can input or output charge (again, at any voltage)
- Can analyze any electrical device by holding it, quickly learning its power requirements and electrical schematics
- Can electrify his exterior as a defense mechanism
- Tends to be very peppy at high charge levels, and very lazy at low charge
- Loves to see electrical devices powered on and running, even if they're not being used for anything
- Would describe charging as a strangely calming experience, like meditating
