Este dibujo corresponde a una escena de uno de los one-shot que escribí para mi fic, Lian's Story. Se titula "Cuando te vi", y trata sobre la experiencia de Kopa al darse cuenta que está enamorado de Vitani. El fragmento del dibujo es el siguiente (y en mi cabeza, la acompaña esta pieza www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZ3b1a… :

"Kopa recordaba el momento preciso en que se había dado cuenta de eso. Fue durante aquella tarde en la pradera cuando él y Vitani encontraron un enorme panal de abejas colgando de una de las ramas de una acacia alta.

- Apuesto a que no puedes trepar hasta allá - le había retado la cachorra.

Y como Kopa no sabía decir que no ante un reto, aceptó trepar al árbol. Además, siempre le gustaba hacer cosas arriesgadas cuando sabía que Vitani estaba mirando. Así que escaló hacia el panal sin pensarlo demasiado.

Subir el tronco fue fácil, pero cuando quiso caminar sobre la rama esta se resquebrajó bajo sus patas y esta cayó hasta la tierra llevándose el panal consigo. Kopa bajó de inmediato solo para descubrir que las abejas enfurecidas empezaban a salir de los restos de su colmena para buscar al culpable de tal desastre.

Entonces las risas se acabaron.

Los cachorros huyeron despavoridos con un enjambre de insectos detrás de ellos. Y tal era su desesperación, y tal era la agresividad de las abejas, que no encontraron más remedio que saltar a las aguas de la primera charca que vieron.

Contuvieron el aliento.

Aguardaron a que el enjambre se cansara de esperar y volviera a su panal.

Y mientras lo hacían, quedaron suspendidos uno frente al otro. Cuando se miraron, se sintieron tranquilos con la compañía mutua. Y entonces Kopa apreció de verdad por primera vez, a la luz de los rayos que alcanzaban a atravesar la superficie del agua y que creaban delgados haces que se perdían al adentrarse hacia el fondo de la charca, el rostro de Vitani. Surcado por esas sombras irregulares en constante movimiento, producto de las pequeñas olas del agua, le pareció extrañamente bello. Su pelaje ondulaba caprichoso en las direcciones que le venían en gana, y sus ojos parecían contener matices de todas las tonalidades que era capaz de imaginar. Entonces apareció en los labios de la cachorra una de esas sonrisas que solo esbozaba con él. El gesto remató el conjunto para crear algo que Kopa no había visto nunca antes.

¿Qué era ese delicado ser que veía? ¿En verdad ella siempre había lucido así de linda? ¿Cómo era que nunca se había dado cuenta?

Le hubiese gustado permanecer ahí más tiempo. Pero por mucho que deseara, no le brotarían branquias.

Lo interesante fue lo que ocurrió al salir de la charca. Y es que lo que había descubierto bajo el agua los acompañó hasta la superficie. Le pareció por un momento que su amiga no era la misma. O tal vez era solo él quien la veía diferente."

This drawing corresponds to a scene from one of the one-shot that I wrote for my fic, Lian's Story. It's titled "When I Saw You", and it's about Kopa's experience of realizing that he's in love with Vitani. The fragment of the drawing is the following (and in my head, this piece accompanies it www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZ3b1a… ):

"Kopa remembered the precise moment when he had realized that. It was during that afternoon in the meadow where he and Vitani found a huge honeycomb hanging from one of the branches of a tall acacia tree.

"I bet you can't climb up there," she had challenged.

And since Kopa did not know how to say no to a challenge, he agreed to climb the tree. Also, he always liked to do risky things when he knew Vitani was watching. So he climbed onto the honeycomb without thinking too much.

Climbing the log was easy, but when he wanted to walk on the branch it cracked under his legs and it fell to the ground taking the honeycomb with him. Kopa immediately went down only to discover that enraged bees were beginning to emerge from the remains of their hive to search for the culprit in such a disaster.

Then the laughs stopped.

The cubs fled in terror with a swarm of insects behind them. And such was their despair, and such was the aggressiveness of the bees, that they found no choice but to jump into the waters of the first pond they saw.

They held their breath.

They waited for the swarm to get tired of waiting and return to their hive.

And as they did so, they were suspended facing each other. When they looked at each other, they felt at ease in each other's company. And then Kopa really appreciated for the first time, in the light of the rays that reached to cross the surface of the water and that created thin beams that were lost as they entered the bottom of the pond, the face of Vitani. Crossed by those irregular shadows in constant movement, product of the small waves of the water, she seemed strangely beautiful to him. Her fur waved capriciously in whatever directions it pleased, and her eyes seemed to contain shades of every hue he could imagine. Then one of those smiles that only outlined with him appeared on the Vitani's lips. The gesture finished off the ensemble to create something Kopa had never seen before.

What was this delicate creaure that he saw? Had she really always looked this cute? How was it that he had never noticed?

He would have liked to stay there longer. But as much as he wished, no gills would sprout.

What was interesting was what happened when they got out of the pond. And it is that what Kopa had discovered underwater accompanied him to the surface. It seemed for a moment that his friend was not the same. Or maybe it was just him who saw her differently."
