A very unusual (but tasty) dish from
!******************************
Yes you read the title right, these pickles were soaked in pickle juice and kool-aid! They're very simple to make, there's a recipe here: https://tornadoughalli.com/kool-aid-pickles/
Thoughts: Ever since I heard of kool-aid pickles, I'd honestly been curious. I don't really like sweet pickles unless they're in tartar sauce, but these were promised as being more tart which I'm all for. These aren't going to be to everyone's taste, but I personally really like the result! Little sweet, tart, and still sour, it's a surprisingly good combination! Also it makes the pickles pretty. I'm hoping I can get some blue kool-aid some time to make blue pickles. These are tropical punch flavor.
Recipe is as follows:
Ingredients
▢1 32 oz jar dill pickle spears
▢1 packet kool aid any flavor
▢3/4 cup sugar
Instructions
In large bowl drain your pickle juice from jar.
Add in Kool aid and sugar to pickle juice and whisk together until dissolved.
Pour back into jar with pickles, you may have a little juice left over.
Seal top and shake.
Place in refrigerator for 5-7 days shaking once a day.
