The only art that I had ever received of a character I work on, named Adrammalech Stillshadow. While he is different in design now, I still appreciate the work that was placed into this by an artist in the Arizona furry community. I wish I could remember them, it has been years since I last went to any meetups, especially since it was when they were still allowed at a local Denny's.
Lore from here on, if you don't want to dive into my personal lore of Aspects and their culture you can stop reading now.
Adrammalech Stillshadow lived a harsh life as a half blood between two elemental tribes of dragons, half wind and half earth. He was able to hatch and stay with Celest Greygale, who is his mother, for a time, where he and his brother and sister looked more like their mother than the snake scaled father and earth dragon Lucre Glitterscale. Celest has her duties as the Primary Aspect of Life, and Lucre his duties as Primary Aspect of Death, leaving them arguing over who should be taking care of them. Celest eventually let Lucre take over the care of Adrammalech and his siblings, which shifted them from a studious nature life to a cutthroat survival for decades in the swamps Lucre personally lorded over...
By the time he made it to his Aspect training at age 90, he was again forced into the hands of his father Lucre as the only survivor of the three half breed dragons. Yet, Death refused to train him, and half of his Aspiring years from 90 to 100 were spent looking for someone to provide the knowledge and tools to understand the Aspect trials that he would be expected to take at age 100. Against the odds there as well, he survived the trial and an underhanded twist by Lucre that left him stuck inside a large chunk of obsidian for a week. There were no scars from it, however, as Adaptive Magics like a save state remembered how he looked before the trial. Mental scarring, however, is not something a bit of magic can hold back. His first activity was to erase the memory of his feathered form from the local stories, and insert himself as a bard for Death, as he gained through the trials a talent for earth shaping rather than wind manipulations. Once others forgot his real face, he was finally able to walk, talk and interact with others. While he still got used to moving his second skin, a few humans had the bad fortune to fall victim to his trauma that the face underneath was not supposed to be his own, and would kill to make sure that nobody knew of it.
Adrammalech originally was to look like a dragon wearing obsidian as armor. But, as I wrote down what his mother was to look like, I figured a nice little trick was to look like his mother (similar to this over here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/16826134/ but with less color and more black feathers and a nifty secretary eye mask), with obsidian neatly placed to emulate the scales of his father and avoid the angry stares he got from others for being a wind dragon in an earth dragon's home. The hunting and refusal of comforts and services were enough that when he survived the 100 years to becoming an Aspect that he had asked to take up the Aspect of Deception.
