Such a Simple Thing
He's an American businessman who operates throughout Asia, but keeps a room and address at Spontoon's famous Chanticleer Club, a men-only resort. The two stories above are set in the 1930s, in a time when sexual inversion was a criminal offense in the United States, but tolerated in places like the Spontoon Independencies. While at the Club, he met a weasel who's a petty officer in the Rain Island Naval Syndicate, and he and Dick Marten got married back in mid-1938.
We see him here, lounging by the pool.
