I love how you make practical weapons. Yes, that is why blades had curves (at least that dramatic of a curve) still that would require a rather elite human or a very, very slow cat with that shield. The spearman would have to retract the spear and stab at an open spot before the cat could turn their wrist slightly. The trainer is not wrong though lucky shots happen.

sounds like sound advice. if you don't use armour, you have to be way faster than your opponent. or maybe so slow that you're not quite finished with your first move before your opponent tries to throw you off your third move...
