As she works at the inn, Scandia meets a lot of different people. She listens to a lot of stories from travelers and loves to talk about what is going on outside of her village. One of the most interesting guests she talked to was Pari, the kobold, for sure. Even if Pari can't talk at all!
As a mute she has to use sign language to communicate with others and more often than not, people don't know about that. And writing everything down in a book sure can be tedious. And so, after spending some time with her guests, the owl quickly grew accustomed her and decided to give the sign language a try.
It was not easy and sure took some hours to learn all those different signs. Scandia still isn't very fluent but at least she understands Pari.
And of course Pari had to teach Scandia one of the most important words: Friend
