Seb-Ra – Terrible claw of the past
The story of Seb-Ra is quite simple, but tons of time has passed since his creation and his importance makes him one of the most prominent characters in my arsenal of creations.
Seb-Ra is a Utahraptor that I created when I was only 13 years old, just when my imagination was just kicking in and my desire to create my identity was just beginning. This character is over 16 years old, making him the oldest character among all the ones I have. It also turns out that he is my first avatar ever created, however, at the age of 13 I did not have a concept of "avatar" like the one I have today. At that time, I only projected my person and my desires on the character.
Being such an old character, it makes him basic and sincere to its core. Seb-Ra is almost pure instinct, impulses, and desires. Although he is sentient like all the other avatars that followed him. Since it is so old, Seb-Ra predates my ability to draw. Since its inception it has only existed as text and descriptions in a story, which I created around 2005. So, this is the first time the Utahraptor has been visually depicted through my strokes.
Going from text to drawing after 16 years in oblivion is an almost magical achievement for me and I relived many of the emotions that I had long ago while I was drawing him.
Already at the age of 13, the tastes that I currently possess were revealing themselves. In the text I always mentioned that Seb-Ra was huge, muscular and had large claws on his limbs. It sounded very similar to the way I currently draw my characters. Even the big legs and the heavy look of his body are characteristics that I continue to do with my current drawing style.
And Seb-Ra is absolutely METAL! He is a beast that is 7 meters long and almost a ton in weight. He is pure instinct and has a malevolent mind that always seeks to dominate others and destroy his prey with passion. This raptor is a natural hunter and fighter. So much is his desire to dominate that he becomes terrifying, and he is probably one of the most bloodthirsty characters I have ever created.
But despite being a perverse beast, he is a character that I appreciate very much, as he symbolizes the claws that yearn to break the chains that bounded me in reality. He is the wild desire to fight for my identity and to be myself at all costs, desires that I still carry deep within my being and are the basis of my artistic self. In practice Seb-Ra is like a proto-Cléiron, but even more wild and uncontrolled.
From an early age I wanted to be different and pursue my dreams at all costs. At my 13 years of age, Seb-Ra represents the claws and the impetus to break the shell and to be born again as a new self, the self that I wanted, free and full. Although it would not be until a year later, at my 14 years of age, that I would get to know who I was and what I was. And in that vision of emerging from the shell I would not only have the claws to fight for my freedom, in that vision I would be born with something much more significant: wings ~

In the story that I wrote so many years ago, Seb-Ra’s story started from the time he was a newborn and that is why I have drawn him with 2 forms. The colors and design are almost authentic to the original text, although I have changed some tones to make it look better and contemporary to my current style. But as you can see, Seb-Ra's design is quite aggressive and attractive, although you might consider it a “classic” Utahraptor from the 2000s.
This drawing has been an incredible and cool odyssey for me, drawing Seb-Ra is like going back to basics and exploring the decisions that shaped the artist you see today. In the near future I would like to explore other of my characters and avatars of yesteryear, in a way of rediscovering the past with the present and forming the circle of my life.
Hope everyone likes the great raptor! Newly updated and brought to life with my strokes. He looks spectacular. A "recreation" of which I am absolutely proud.
Fun fact: during the creation of this drawing, I inflicted a rather ugly wound on one of my fingers on my right hand. My partner advised me to pause my drawing for a week while I healed but I considered this drawing so important that I didn't stop and no matter the pain I finished this work anyway. Just like Seb-Ra and my current me: nothing stops us from fulfilling our dreams ~

And that is definitely the case I feel! You put so much passion and energy into your pieces as well as certain aspects like muscles, size, and heft! It is why I've adored your style for so many years and why it is so amazing~! I really love this guy's design and how lean and predatory yet strong and muscular he looks! Truly a fearsome predator that I can see tearing his prey apart with ease and gleefully devouring them!
A very edgy dragonling at that XP. But yeah, he's really cool and I really love him! A great addition to your dinosaur menagerie! Just love those powerful legs and tail~ That's one thing I'm so glad that has never changed. It is what really caught my eye with you over a decade ago! Just huge, big, strong, bulky characters~
But of course! What I meant the legs, I meant the whole thing! Such power and strength in those alone! It really takes talent to make just certain parts of Characters and creatures a statement piece on their own right. Like, you could hide the rest of the body and just see the legs and know the thing will be a hulking string beast.
