I cast these horns out of soft polyurethane foam, so that even at five inches long, they are super lightweight and durable. This pair was painted in a natural brown and had a clear elastic thread through them.

Thnks for the compliment! Most of what I have learned has been through trial-and-error, though I have the advantage of an art school education to back that up. ^_^ I would greatly recommend http://www.smooth-on.com/ as a wonderful resource, though. They have a lot of helpful videos, and they are happy to work with artists who only need small quantities of chemicals. One thing to keep in mind, though is that these chemicals do put off toxic fumes, so you will need an appropriate place with good ventilation away from any pets to work. That's actually been one of the hardest things for me. >:P
Thank you very much! This looks extremely helpful to me. I have a rather large garage, so ventilation shouldn't be a problem, and also have worked with fibreglass in the past (much to my dismay), so my general incompetence should be sufficient to keep me from poisoning myself. Once again, I really appreciate the help. Once I start working on something/achieve some general level of competence, would you mind if I ask you more specific questions in the future? If not, that's fine. I really appreciate the link.
