I use a mixture of hand work and texture/scatter brushes, similar to how concept artists work. Custom brushes are essential to time-saving with digital artwork, similar to how different brushes / tools are used with traditional painting to get your different effects. :)
Ah ok. That makes sense. And, yeah, totally fine for speeding things up. My last complex piece with an aerial view background took just shy of 20 hrs. Probably only 1-2 hrs spent on the three characters lol. It just wasn’t something I could readily use any shortcuts on unfortunately, or I surely would have.
