Just an image to do just deference to the recently passed Ben Hurst, writer of both the classic animated Sonic the Hedgehog (SATAM) but also Sonic Underground. He always expressed in interviews that Sonic and friends should be people first, characters first.
His influence led to the Archie Sonic series and thence to the brilliant UK Fleetway series with its own innovations for the character.
Some people on my DA page complained that I made this the new Sonic design.
Actually I tried to combine several influences of Sonic into one silhouette to represent the character as a whole. Sonic was enriched and changed forever by Ben and no matter what he looks like he owes a lot to the man who believed in him enough to turn a colorful Sega mascot into a hero.
Way past cool Ben.
